DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Justin Bieber couldn't ask for a bigger or better fan than little Nevin.

Sadly, Nevin, 8, lost his battle with cancer Wednesday afternoon at Dayton Children's Medical Center.

The hospital confirmed his death to us Wednesday evening.

We introduced you to Nevin in September 2012.  The feisty little boy couldn't get enough of his favorite pop star.

Bieber's poster donned his hospital room and Nevin loved to dress up just like his idol.  He even made up a special name tag so that when he wore his costume, you knew exactly who he was portraying.

Bieber sent him an autographed photo and music CD.  Nevin loved to sing along.

The hospital staff posted their sadness and remembrance of Nevin on its Facebook page writing, "Dayton Children's is mourning after the tremendous loss to our family today.  Beloved and long-term patient Nevin, age 8, passed away this afternoon.  Our hearts and prayers are with his family and everyone who loved and cared for him as we remember Nevin’s short, but vibrant life that touched so many of us.  Nevin will always be a part of the Dayton Children's family and he will be greatly missed."
