6 arrested after quick chase downtown

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Six people were arrested near downtown Dayton early Monday morning after trying to run from police.

Officer's responded to a call of shots fired in the area of  East Fourth and St. Clair streets around 2:30.

Officers tried to stop a car, but the driver turned off the lights and kept going. That getaway attempt came to a quick end when the driver ran over a curb, flattening two of the car's tires.

Police found a gun and drugs inside the car.

Six people were taken into custody.

Police have not released their names or information on any charges they might face.
