PIQUA, Ohio (WDTN) - After nine months of construction, a Piqua skateboard park opened Saturday.
Dozens showed up for the dedication ceremony held at 1421 South Street Saturday afternoon.
All material and labor for the construction of the Skateboard Park was donated by Richard Donnelly, former city employee and lifetime resident of Piqua.
"The City of Piqua is very fortunate to have numerous citizens that give back to the community, " stated Piqua City Manager Gary Huff. "The donation of the entire cost to construct the skate park by Rich Donnelly is a perfect example of this tremendous generosity. All of us, and especially the youth of the community, should be very grateful for what Mr. Donnelly has done to provide such a wonderful recreation facility."
