PIQUA, Ohio (WDTN) - Piqua-Troy road was shut down Saturday night so that Miami County Deputies could investigate a fatal crash.
UPDATE: The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Michael Miller of Troy.
According to investigators, the accident happened around 8 p.m. Saturday when a driver lost control, overcorrected, and slammed into a utility pole.
Miller, a passenger in the vehicle, was thrown from the car and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle, 32-year-old Kenneth Thurmond was taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital.
Thurmond is listed in critical condition.
The accident remains under investigation.
