Teacher resigns after duct tape claim

FAIRBORN, Ohio (WDTN) - A Fairborn teacher accused of using duct tape on a student resigned from his position.

The Greene County Prosecutor's Office did not charge Scott Dammeyer in the case.  They referred it back to the school district.

Fairborn Superintendent Dave Scarberry confirmed the resignation Friday afternoon.

Dammeyer is already out of the classroom.  His resignation becomes official at the end of the school year.

The allegations surfaced in December 2012 when a seventh grader's mother made a complaint.  Dammeyer was investigated for unlawful restraint and disorderly conduct.

School leaders met Friday to take action against Dammeyer. where they reached a separation agreement.

Dammeyer was with district for 11 years.  He was a math teacher at Baker Elementary School.
