Remembering Julianna Hawk, crash victim

KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) - Friends and family are gathering to remember 14-year-old Julianna Hawk.

She and two friends, Sophie Kerrigan and Skylar Kooken, were killed last Sunday in a crash in Sugarcreek Township.

Visitation for Julianna is underway. It continues until 8:00 pm at the Westbrock Funeral Home in Kettering.

People who knew Julianna were using chalk to leave messages of hope Thursday on the driveway of her Bellbrook Home.

Luminaries will also be lit tonight along the streets of her neighborhood.

Julianna's funeral will be private.

Visitation for Sophie Kerrigan and Skylar Kooken is Friday from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Fairhaven Church on East Whipp Road in Kettering.

Luminaries will be lit in their neighborhoods Friday evening.

A prayer service for the two will also be held Saturday at the cemetery.

A community remembrance will be held at Bellbrook High School on Saturday at 2:00 pm.

Meanwhile, a preliminary crash report has been released. It says Jesse Whitaker, 17, was driving the pickup truck that crashed on Wagner Road. The report says Whitaker was traveling at 50-miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone.

Whitaker was wearing a seatbelt, but it is still unclear whether the other five passengers were wearing theirs.
