BEAVERCREEK, Ohio (WDTN) - A Beavercreek bakery is celebrating the new pope with a special cupcake.
The papal cupcakes come courtesy of Gigi's Cupcakes.
Owner Kathy Schumann says she started making the special treats Wednesday.
She made 266 cupcakes to commemorate Pope Francis I who is the 266th pope.
"We do a lot of things like this. When big celebrations come about we try to hit them with special things we do. That's what cupcakes are all about. Fun things, parties," said Kathy Schumann, Gigi's Cupcakes.
The papal cupcakes were free Thursday. Anyone who stopped by the shop could enjoy one.
Donations were being accepted in return. Proceeds will benefit St. Vincent De Paul in downtown Dayton.
