WPAFB, Ohio (WDTN) - Wright-Patterson Air Force Base heard the official news it was hoping to avoid.
The cuts will take effect immediately. They are in anticipation of even bigger reductions by the Department of Defense.
Air Force Materiel Command has ordered WPAFB to put a freeze on civilian hiring, fire temporary employees, cut down on travel and maintenance, as well as delay minor construction projects because of budget uncertainties across the Department of Defense.
