FAIRBORN, Ohio (WDTN) - This is the week some 13,000 Wright Patterson Air Force Base workers will begin getting those dreaded furlough notices due to congressional sequestration budget cuts.
To help, officials at Wright Patterson will be holding an Information Fair Wednesday, March 20 at the Wright-Patt Community and Airmen Center from 11am to 1:30 pm..
The Information Fair will provide an opportunity for furloughed employees to learn about agencies that can help them through this tough financial time.
Employees are required to take 22 days of unpaid time off, roughly one day a week from April through September.
During the Information Fair, employees can meet with financial experts about employment assistance programs available at the base.
The first of the furlough notices could be sent out as early as Thursday, March 21 with the first mandatory furlough days beginning at the end of April.
