XENIA, Ohio (WDTN) -

A Xenia gas station became the target of a robber early Tuesday morning.

The man demanded the cash from the register from the Speedway gas station on North Detroit Street around 1 a.m. Tuesday. He implied he had a weapon but never showed one, according to the gas station clerk.

He left the store with a small amount of cash and a pack of Newport cigarettes.

The suspect is described as an African American male, 5’9” thin build wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, long green or brown shorts and black and white basketball type shoes.

The suspect ran north when he exited the store. A K-9 search was performed by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.  Police said they will review the surveillance footage from the gas station to help their investigation.
