DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Upset business owners have turned to 2 News blaming Dayton students for chasing away their customers.
The owners said chaos and fights usually breaks out when the last bell rings at Belmont High School just down the street from the Arbor Avenue RTA bus stop.
Dayton police arrested one teenager following a fight on Tuesday, October 26.
"It's scary for me. It's scary for my customers. It scares people when you're trying to rent to businesses in the area," said Joann Wesenbach, an upset business owner.
The business owners told 2 News Dayton Public Schools stationed a security guard near the bus stop after Tuesday's fight, but they're still frustrated with the response.
A spokeswoman for Dayton Public Schools spokeswoman said the district is now looking into the matter and that school fights like the one outside Belmont are rare.
