SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) - A murder suspect was arrested Tuesday afternoon after a two hour standoff in a Springfield neighborhood.

The incident apparenly started overnight when police say a group of people were drinking at 338 Lincoln Park Circle.

A witness says the victim, Jason Wones, was trying to break up a fight between the suspect and and a woman at the home.  Police say the suspect, Laune Dozier, Jr., stabbed Wones several times with a two-pronged fork he retrieved from the kitchen.

Dozier ran away until police tracked him to a house at the corner of East and Essex streets. The SWAT team surrounded the home and after the suspect refused to surrender, they fired tear gas inside. That  forced the suspect out and he was taken into custody.
