SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (AP) - An Ohio woman has filed a federal discrimination complaint alleging the religious-based community organization where she worked fired her when she divulged she was pregnant.

The American Civil Liberties Union is also alleging a pattern of hostile treatment toward other women who became pregnant while working at Springfield-based Inside Out.

The ACLU and its Ohio affiliate say they filed a complaint Tuesday with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on behalf of Springfield resident Jennifer Maudlin.

Inside Out Director William Stout said Maudlin quit voluntarily and was not fired. Stout also says there is no discrimination against any pregnant employee.

Stout adds the agency is a Bible-based Christian organization and would not allow any person having sex outside of marriage to work with children served by the organization.
