URBANA, Ohio (WDTN) - Improvements are on the way for a Champaign County airport.
Grimes Field Airport in Urbana will receive a $150,000 grant to rehabilitate the runway and improve wheelchair-accessibility of the terminal building.
“The Grimes Field Airport provides important travel services to area small businesses, recreational pilots, flight students, and visitors,” U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) said when announcing the grant. “This funding will improve the safety and efficiency of the airport so it can remain a reliable option for the county.”
The money was awarded through the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration.
