LAPORTE, Ind. (AP) — Police are hoping DNA results shed new light on the death of a LaPorte woman more than 30 years after her death.
Juanita Boyd was found dead in a field Feb. 21, 1981. Police say the single mother had last been seen leaving a local bar with a man. Her body was found a week later in a field.
The 31-year-old Boyd had been strangled and stabbed. Her killer has never been caught.
LaPorte County Detective Andy Hynek tells WSBT-TV (http://bit.ly/Ww0Osq ) police hope someone will come forward with information that could help solve the case. They also hope to get clues from DNA tests that weren't available when Boyd died.
