INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — An Indianapolis man has been arrested on gun and theft charges amid an investigation into whether he stole a dog that he found on Craigslist.

Fifty-five-year-old Johnny Jones Jr. was being held Tuesday in the Marion County Jail, where records didn't indicate whether he had an attorney.

Twenty-six-year-old Ben Eiler told police he placed an ad on Craigslist for someone to temporarily take in his German shepherd until Eiler found a residence that allowed pets. He says Jones answered the ad, but once Eiler relocated, he was unable to find Jones.

Police found firearms and four dogs during a search of Jones' home.
