SUGARCREEK TWP, Ohio (WDTN) - Officials said a homicide and kidnapping suspect was captured around 8 p.m. Friday evening.

They said 50-year-old Jeffrey Bedinger was taken into custody after a police chase and crash.

It happened at the intersection of Wilmington Pike and Bridge Road in Sugarcreek Township.

Montgomery County Sheriff, Phil Plummer said Bedinger's silver Honda, a mini bus and another car were all involved in the crash.

Plummer said that out of the fifteen people inside the vehicles, only two suffered minor injuries.

Bedinger is accused of gunning down his 22-year-old stepson, Brandon Haskins, at a Troy apartment on Thursday.

Investigators said the automatic handgun believed to be used in the crime fell out of Bedinger's car during the crash.

Sheriff Plummer also said the Bedinger confessed to crime at the crash scene.

Bedinger is also accused of kidnapping his own 7-year-old son, Zane.

Zane was found safe in Indiana Thursday evening after an Amber Alert was issued for the child.
