RICHMOND, Indiana (WDTN) - "We're not giving up. We're not giving up on America's justice system. We believe," says Rick Fonseca.
Justice for Jorge. That's what his family wants. Jorge Fonseca, 82, was robbed and beaten to death on June 19th, 2009. His body was found next to his car in the 1300 block of South 5th Street. Autopsy reports show he had multiple skull fractures. His son Rick says he was hit so violently that his false teeth were shattered. It's a nightmare he relives everyday.
"I thought he got hit by a car at first and then when I got there and they told me he was beaten. I got to the hospital and they said he was dead and I wake him up, like dad, dad, come back," explains Rick.
Jorge was a retired carpenter with a soft spot for those in need.
"He's a fella that had a big heart and done just about everything that people asked him to do. He went beyond, just due to the fact that he was just that type of fella. If he had a dime, he let you have that dime," says his brother Frank Fonseca.
A wooden cross sits outside Rick's house, his father's hard hat and a rosary placed on it as a way to keep his memory alive.
He believes someone knows what happened the night his father was murdered and he's pleading with that person to come forward.
"For his last words to be...that ain't it. That ain't it. There's more. And you know what I'm talking about. You know what happened. So, I'm asking you. I'm begging you, the whole family, America is begging you. Please just come out and say it," asks Rick.
