DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - The woman who struck a Dayton Police officer with her van Tuesday night was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on unrelated charges.

During their investigation into the incident, police learned Ashley Jennings had an outstanding warrant and took her into custody. She is not facing charges for hitting the officer.

Police say Officer Willie Hooper was setting out “stop sticks” in attempt to stop a fleeing man when he was struck by Jennings van.

Jennings faces charges of theft and forgery.
