CELINA, Ohio (WDTN) - A Fort Recovery High School teacher was arrested on a sexual battery charge Tuesday after what deputies describe as a 3-year relationship with a female victim.

Deputies say the victim and her family called the Sheriff’s Office Monday afternoon to make the charges against Christopher A. Summers, 32, of St. Henry.

Deputies did not give the victim’s age, but say Summers, an accounting teacher and junior varsity basketball coach, knew her from school.

“We have no reason to believe, at this point, that any of the criminal conduct occurred during school events or on school property,” said Sheriff Jeff Grey. “Fort Recovery Schools has cooperated fully and without hesitation.”

Investigators seized computers, cameras and other electronic equipment from Summers’ home.

The alleged criminal conduct between Summers and the victim reportedly occurred at his St. Henry home and in a hotel.
