WAPAKONETA, Ohio (WDTN) - The Auglaize County sheriff is asking for help in solving a cold case investigation.

Roger L. Parent was robbed and murdered at the P and S Carryout in St. Marys on Dec. 29, 1978.

With the recent implementation of Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine's Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation re-opening investigations on unsolved homicide cases, Sheriff Al Solomon said his office requested assistance in the 34 year-old case.

"Any unsolved homicide is always in the back of your mind," Solomon said. "This case has been in the back of the minds of the last three sheriffs."

Solomon and his detectives recently met with Ohio B.C.I. over the case and it will be featured on the Attorney General's website in the near future.

Anyone with information can remain anonymous by calling the detectives direct telephone line at (419) 739-6555.
