Business owner shoots intruder

JEFFERSON TWP, Ohio (WDTN) - A business owner shoots an intruder in Jefferson Township after a breaking and entering.

Matthew Dale Foster was booked into Montgomery County Jail Saturday morning on breaking and entering, he has not been formally charged.

Deputies responded to the 6000-block of Dayton-LIberty Rd. early Saturday morning on reports of a breaking and entering in progress.

The owner had a suspect at gunpoint while officers made their way to the location. When law enforcement arrived, they discovered the suspect had been shot.

The suspect was transported to Miami Valley Hospital and is expected to recover. They were booked into the Montgomery County Jail.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is handling the investigation.
