Dayton (WDTN) - Dayton police still need your help closing the book on unsolved homicides from 2011.
When Dayton fire crews arrived on scene on North McGee in the early morning hours of December 7th, they found a grisly crime scene. Someone had killed 43 year old Sheila Tucker in the abandoned garage, and set her body on fire.
Sgt. Dan Mauch said, "To be killed and then set on fire, I mean what do you have to do to somebody in order for them to do that to you?"
Police are still searching for the motive, although information is coming in that suggests that Tucker may have had enemies.
"We have been getting a good number of leads in this case. Unfortunately there were a lot of people that evidently had some motivation to have a problem with Miss Tucker due to lifestyle choices she had made. Obviously nobody deserves, something like this, but we're panning through those tips as they come in."
A neighbor reported the fire, and had seen people come and go from the garage.
"I see a lot of things that go wrong around here but, it's not good it's not good for anybody"
Police have checked surveillance video from the area of the crime scene, but they mostly need to hear from anyone who might have seen or heard from Tucker in the days and hours leading up to her murder.
"Anybody that has some information for us, we're asking that they give us a call."
