Dayton (WDTN) - It was one of Dayton's most shocking murders of 2010 and police are still willing to pay for the tip that solves the case.

A gunman, who had been hiding in some tall grass, jumped out and killed his victim.. right in front of his two young children.

As Detective Cayce Cantrell reports from the 100 block of North Paul Laurence Dunbar, "This is where 34 year old Corey Mitchell lived.  The night of May 29, 2010 he was killed by an unknown assailant.  He had just arrived home with his two twin children and had just parked here in the street when he was ambushed by an unknown gunman.  During the gunfire one of his children was also struck by bullets and was wounded but fortunately was able to survive her wounds.  Corey Mitchell however did not.  We're asking for anyone who has information to please call crime stoppers at 222-stop.  Detectives are very close to solving this case but still need a little more help from the public."

The shooter was described as a bald, black male... wearing a white long sleeve t-shirt, black pants, and black gloves.
