DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Ohio's statewide texting ban for drivers has been in effect since last year, but police and state troopers have been issuing warnings the first six months.

Starting Friday, March 1 if you're caught  you could receive a $150 ticket.

The law also bans drivers younger than 18 from using cell phones anytime while behind the wheel.

Tuesday, Feb. 26, AAA of the Miami Valley is revealing the first of many Don't Text and Drive billboards that motorists will see through-out the state reminding us of the new law.

The Dayton area's first billboard will be revealed Tuesday morning at 10:30 at the corner of Keowee and Leo streets.
