FAIRBORN, Ohio (WDTN) - Two Greene County school districts are asking voters for financial support on November 6.
From our partners at the Fairborn Daily Herald, Fairborn City School District officials have put a 7.4 mill emergency operating levy on the November ballot. They say it would generate $4.4 million a year for the next decade if passed. They estimate the cost at $226 a year for the owner of a $100,000 home. They levy appears as *Issue 18* on the ballot.
The Fairborn Daily Herald also reported Greenon is asking voters to approve a combination bond/earned income tax that would mean two new schools and money to operate. If approved, the Ohio Schools Facilities Commission will pay $22.5 million to build new elementary and high schools. The ballot issue would generate another $32 million for construction and the .75% tax would mean additional funding. For more information on the plan, there will be a meeting at seven on Tuesday, October 30 at Indian Valley Middle School.
