Samford selected to lead Metairie Bank

METAIRIE, La. (AP) — Jefferson Parish-based Metairie Bank and Trust named Ron Samford chief executive officer.

New Orleans CityBusiness reports (http://bit.ly/16rz8w3 ) Samford replaces Reginald "Ric" Smith, who retired.

Smith will remain on the bank's board of directors.

Samford is a former vice president and chief administrative officer of Hibernia Corp., which operated Hibernia National Bank until it was acquired by Capital One Corp. He holds a master's degree in accounting from Texas Tech University.

Metairie Bank has seven offices in the New Orleans area. The company reports total assets of $351.4 million and deposits of $312.1 million.
